30 Hours Funding

30 hours childcare and education is available for three and four year olds of working parents in England. The 30 hour offer doubles the existing 15 hours currently available to all three and four year olds and could save working families up to £5,000 a year.

There are a number of ways that you can take up the offer if your chosen provider/s can meet your requirement:

  • No session is to be longer than 10 hours
  • No minimum session length
  • Not before 6am or after 8pm
  • A maximum of two sites in a single day
  • Be with a Good or Outstanding Ofsted registered provider

Parents in England can apply for 30 hours childcare at the same time as Tax-Free Childcare, via the childcare service. To qualify, they must be in work and each earning at least £120 a week and not more than £100,000 per year.

To see if you are eligible please visit the childcare choices website here
